Case Study – Supporting Quality Solicitors with their hire for an SEO Specialist

QualitySolicitors is the group of law firms that are changing the face of legal services in the UK. With over 100 high street locations and more opening each month, they’re the fastest growing legal brand in the country.

They are a marketing consortium which receives payments from their network of solicitors for member benefits and marketing which generates enquiries and referrals to the network of solicitors firms.

Requirement

Quality Solicitors were looking to bring an SEO Specialist into their team, a team that consisted of various specialists across the marketing mix.

At the point of engagement, they had been sourcing direct for some time, and had already been engaged with 2 local recruitment agencies for approximately 1 month, with no success beyond initial first stage interviews.

Challenge

Beginning a brand-new relationship, James visited the office and met David (Head of Marketing) to fully understand the challenges and barriers to date.

Drilling down, James established that they were struggling to find candidates that had the depth of understanding in technical SEO, including keyword analytics, metadata, and optimisation etc.

Those that they had met typically understood the fundamentals of SEO from a copy/content creation perspective or a broader Digital Marketing perspective, but not as a core focus.

Solution

Using outbound recruitment strategies, James had preliminary conversations with circa.40 prospective candidates to ascertain their interest in role and suitability for position.

This was then refined to a shortlist of 2 suitable candidates that were introduced within 5 working days of engagement.

Subsequently, both candidates were invited in for a second stage interview, passing the initial barrier and challenges the business had previously faced, one of which went on to secure the position.

Key metrics for the recruitment requirements

Candidates introduced – 2

Candidates interviewed – 2

Candidates progressed to final interview – 2

With the specialist role we were advertising and the small pool of specialists in the area, it was difficult role to recruit for. James took the time to understand our business, the team and our real selling points to potential candidates.

I’m sure there were a range of CV’s James could have put forward but by having the initial consultation, James understood the calibre of the candidate we needed and only sent experienced candidates across that suited the specialism we were after.

Highly recommended!
